3/6a The Challenge of Evolution to Christian Foundations

So far in this series on the Challenges to the Christian Foundations of Faith, we have been setting out the major beliefs handed down to us by our Creator, by Jesus Christ and the Church Fathers. We have talked about the foundational beliefs about the Holy Spirit, Jesus of Nazareth and of end time events.

In looking at the first challenge to Christian, we discussed Humanism as a religion in direct contract to the teachings of Jesus Christ.  We included material from YouTube and from the original ‘Humanist Manifesto’.

Our Christian Foundation Beliefs – Guest Post

Perhaps this would be a good point to stop and remind our readers what the basic beliefs of the Christian faith include.  We have been given several versions of these statements:  The Nicenen Creed and the Apostle’s Creed.

The following is a summary of these statements.  As we go through them, see if you can sort out what your heart/spirit really understand and belief.

What we Believe:

We believe in one Omnipresent God, the Father, the almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, of all that is, of galaxies and realms of angelic beings, of the seen and unseen worlds.

3/5d The Humanist Manifesto as a Challenge to the Foundations of Christianity

In this post, we have present a brief review of the ‘Humanist Manifesto’ document in hopes that it will help the reader better understand this belief system, this ‘religion’.

THE TENETS OF HUMANISM

In 1933, and again forty years later in 1973, humanists set forth their credo in Humanist Manifesto I and Humanist Manifesto II.  There is nothing left to the imagination when it comes to the tenets of Humanism. This system of thought has been so well defined and so oft’ discussed that it is an easy matter to understand its goals, aims, objectives, and teachings.

3/5c The Strategies of the Humanist viewpoint to Christian Foundations

The Strategies of the Humanist Movement to the Christian faith are many.

1. Take over teaching institutions, allowing the power of the state to control what is taught, which of course, will be Secular Humanism.  Deny the teaching of any traditional Christian values to the young. A deliberate moral ‘vacuum’ will be created, so a self-centred value structure develops, all without the awareness of God.

2. Train the next generation to be moulders of public opinion, passing on the ideas of Humanism. Use the financial resources they generate in their professions to distribute humanist views.

YouTube – Secular Humanism in our Public Schools

As we continue our posts on the Challenges to Christian Foundations, I have viewed many YouTube presentations to find something to add to your thinking.  This short one caught my interest so I trust you will view it as well.  Garry North is an Economist, Educator and Publisher.  His topic is Humanism in the Public School system.

3/3b Christian Foundations and End Time Events

We continue with our study of ‘Esctology’ or End time Events.  In our previous post, we defined our present time period as ‘The Church Age’ .  This started with Jesus’ resurrection and will last until He returns. Then we went on to the different views on the coming world Tribulation and the Rapture, when Jesus collects His people.  After that, we saw the Judgement of the saints, living and dead and the defeat of Satan.

Now we continue with the remaining themes about the end times:
