7/47 From Slave to Godly Stewards with Godly Christian Foundations

Somewhere in being the true follower of Jesus, just being a slave isn’t good enough. Then just being a servant chains7in the religious system fails to meet the Heart’s cry for a living relationship with our Creator. The transition from slave to true servant must happen in order to receive the ‘aha’ of a new relationship with Jesus.

To know is experience is to be in an intimate relationship, to be in communication, to have fellowship, to expose one’s inner most being. This can only take place in a relationship where there is no judgment and no unforgiveness, the only one who can do that is Jesus.

7/46 Christian Foundations looks at the Qualities of a good Steward

In any discussion on what goes on in ‘the Church’, we need to remember that the Lord is building His Church.  steward4It isn’t the institutional, religious system, nor is it a structure of legalism and rules that come from self-effort.  We must remember that the Lord will rise up His leaders as well.

Having said that, sometimes we can learn what NOT to do – by watching those around us.  One picture the Lord used was the church as a flock of sheep.  Anyone having sheep in their background knows that a bunch of sheep are not the wisest creatures on Earth.

Two YouTube Videos on Christian Servants

As we continue the theme of being a servant in the church, we present 2 YouTube sights by church leaders:

ChurchConsultants:  “How did I get in this ministry desert?” Pastor George Ross of Northside Christian explains how he gets there, and what he does to prevent another trip. (courtesy of NACC 2010) For more church leadership videos & blogs, visit www.churchcentral.com

Here is the second interesting comment:

Toxic Leadership by john Volker, a short film discussing toxic leaders.

We trust these 2 YouTube videos will add to your walk in being a servant-leader.

Christian Foundations suggests the book: ‘Breaking Controlling Powers’

Slave Breaking Controlling Powers 9780883685549There are many books around that can point you in the right direction whenit come to working on your freedom.  Here is a really good book if you want renewed strength to stand firm against evil attacks.  Sometimes, does it feel like people are coming between you and God?  Perhaps you might feel like the whole world is against you?

Here is a 3-in-1 volume written by Robert Liardon that might be for you.

Best-selling author Roberts Liardon has combined three of his best-selling books to give you spiritual weaponry you need to fight the good fight of faith!

7/45 Christian Foundations looks at Getting ‘Egypt’ out of your heart

Marcus baptismGetting ‘Egypt’ out of the heart of the Israelites was one of the hardest lessons for Jehovah God to teach His people.  Back there, they were slaves, and servants – without any authority over their own life.  They had the mind-set of being in servitude to what was around them.  Egypt was their Master!  They really believed: “I don’t have a say so I can’t achieve much …”.  As a result, they were limited, restricted and certainly not where God wanted them to be for the future.  Slave they were and slave they lived.

7/45 We will Not face an angry, Judgemental God with Jesus

A.  VIEWS FROM A COUNSELLOR’S NOTES

1.  A most common issue

In my over 30 years of counselling, many common problems emerge.  For those who walk by what the Bible teaches, the most damaging issues is unforgiveness.   Yes forgiveness of others but an often bigger issue is forgiveness – of themselves for not being perfect, for making mistakes or committing outright ‘sin’. This is especially important for those who have returned to the Lord from their own ‘Pigpen’ experience as we discussed in our last post!

2.  Ruined lives because they believe the lies of the enemy
