7/20 Something to bring you a laugh

I found this article in one of my readings.  I have adapted to bring more humour into your day and written it as a Guest Post.  A young boy was asked to give a book report on the entire the Bible.  This is what he came up with.  Through the eyes of a child!

The Children’s Bible is a Nutshell!

“In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness and some gas – even even the stars.  The Bible says, “The Lord the God is One but I think He must be a lot older than that.

7/19 Jumping off the fence with both feet planted in Christian Foundations!

Ever had this conversation with someone – or even yourself?  “So how can you be so sure, Susanne that there is a God?  How do you know for sure?”

In our logical rational world, we can always find answers for everything.  Right?  Cause and effect?  A + B always equals …. C?  That may have left me logically satisfied but something deeper was needed.  I remember how hard it was in my early days, trying to follow this Jesus and what the Holy Spirit was teaching me.  I battled with doubt and all the physical realities around me.  “Was there a God? How do you know?”

7/18 Progression as sons is not a ladder to be climbed

So far in this series, we have talked about the natural way of growth for Jesus followers.  What we have laid out is not a progression that happens automatically as time goes by.  Some people get stuck on the different stages of growth, meeting false ideas, detours and roadblocks.

Others ‘hit the brick wall’ and see that their perceptions of the Kingdom are faulty.  However, the saddest group of Jesus followers are those who have ‘returned to Egypt – the world – to the leeks and garlic’ of their old life.  We shall mention this along the way as many of us have had such ‘Pigpen experiences’ but hopefully have returned to the narrow path of life by now.

7/17 Spiritual Slavery to what?

We continue with the theme of being a spiritual slave – even an orphan – when we first come into God’s kingdom.  It was even worse than this; we served under ‘the father of lies’, under the deceptions and illusions from generations and generations who were lost to His family.  We had inherited the rebellion and self-striving from Adam and Eve and then continued in their paths of blindness, separated from the hope of another reality.

7/16 Daniel’s Testimony about Christian Foundations and God’s love

This is a true story about Daniel, my beloved Husband. He wanted to share this in case there were other readers out there who felt the same thing.  So hear these words from someone who has been there!

My own testimony is that I discovered one day that I didn’t love God.  I was watching a water baptism where they asked the candidate whether they loved God or not.  To my amazement I was convicted that I would have to say NO! to such a question or be a liar.  (By the way I was born again, baptised in the Holy Spirit, and in Christian ministry!)

7/15 The Jesus I never Knew book, Living with Jesus Today

Recently I came across another great book! Here is a YouTube portion a book review of ‘The Jesus I never knew’, Chapter 1, in Audio form:

” ‘The Jesus I Never Knew’ audio book gives a moving and refreshing portrait of the central figure of history, Jesus Christ. With a willingness to tackle difficult questions, Philip Yancey looks at the radical words of this itinerant Jewish carpenter and asks whether we are taking him seriously enough in our own day and age.
