So far we have show some of the major differences between Cults and our Christian Foundations by examples of their leader/s and their followers. In this post, we show the usual journey the Cult follows, along with an example of a Cult group we have known.
A. MOST CULT GROUPS ARE FORMED IN THIS PATTERN:
1. They begin as a small group
This group breaks away from some established Christian body. The breakaway groups are always sincere to follow God’s will and to see a better world.

We now investigate the fourth major challenges to the teaching of Jesus and of His followers. So far, we have set out the basis for Humanism, for Evolution and the New Age belief systems. We have seen the changes in mind set and secular philosophy in following these model of lifestyle as they have emerged in the 1960’s to the present day.
Our next step is into that of the Cults and other Religions as counterfeits to the teachings of the Bible. In this section of the major challenges to Christianity we shall define what we mean by cults, how to tell a cult from the teachings of Jesus and what to share with those caught in the webs of confusion and false teachings. We began this series by discussing the importance of keeping the Covenant given by our Creator. To keep the information in some form of time line perspective, we first presented the Time Line from Adam to Noah. Then we laid out for you the Time Line from Noah to Abraham. We have been looking at the concepts of the New Age as a Challenge to the Christian faith of or Western culture. So far, we have defined what we mean by the New Age. We have seen where it has come from. Then we went onto seven basic principles of the New Age teachings. We saw some of the more common roads the New Age has used to get into our lifestyle, our schools, universities, medicines and subtlety into almost every area around us.

A. A FAREWELL DISCUSSION
This week our passage focuses on the Holy Spirit bringing conviction.
It’s part of a “Farewell Discourse” of Jesus’ outlining his departure and its effect on the disciples future. Saying goodbye is never easy. Apart from funerals, airport departure lounges are for me the epitome of places of sad farewells.
There is a classic story of goodbyes in the Bible, John 16:4 onwards. Jesus is sharing with his disciples that His departure is necessary so that they can fully embrace the future.
