7/47 From Slave to Godly Stewards with Godly Christian Foundations
Somewhere in being the true follower of Jesus, just being a slave isn’t good enough. Then just being a servant in the religious system fails to meet the Heart’s cry for a living relationship with our Creator. The transition from slave to true servant must happen in order to receive the ‘aha’ of a new relationship with Jesus.
To know is experience is to be in an intimate relationship, to be in communication, to have fellowship, to expose one’s inner most being. This can only take place in a relationship where there is no judgment and no unforgiveness, the only one who can do that is Jesus.
As we mentioned in our previous post, for some people, it does mean getting the ‘pig pen’ experience settled. Only then can the Prodigal son returns to true relationship with God! If we don’t go through this Heart cleansing, the underlying motive, the unfilled desires the yearning to see ‘the other side of the fence’, will grow and harden a soft Heart. We must get ‘Egypt’ out of our Heart to be effective servants and stewards for the Lord Jesus.
So, returning to serve God from the pig-pen or even burnout means a new willingness to grow in our walk with Him, a deeper challenge for transition. Often this means facing the basic areas of the Holy Spirit’s conviction, to further cleanup areas He highlights. Growth in Jesus means taking that personal responsibility for the hurts of the past – both our own and the hurts we have caused to others.
This also means learning obedience, to trust in the midst of pain. Remember growth is a normal part of Christian life. This is our earthly battle field, our training ground for eternity. Progression for some will happen with dramatic signs and conformations. For others, it is a slow journey of choice. Some have to ‘hit the brick wall’ before seeing God’s way is best. However, catch this thought and hold it in your Heart: A Transition point will come and turn your life from being a slave to the world’s ways of doing things – into real stewardship
I pray that you, our reader have made that transition from being a slave in His kingdom to know the change to stewardship!
